nude it.

Hello all, how's the weekend so far? Mine's been going good. Does anyone have plans for Earth Day tomorrow?? I think I will find myself going to Sephora and getting a free moisturizer!

I bought this at Ulta and I absolutely love it. Like most Essence nail polishes I've tried, it goes on really smooth and creamy. I am really in to nude colors ATM. This is called Nude It!

What do you think? What is your favorite nude?

mini haul.

This is all the stuff I got this week (most on sale!) :

CVS has all their Wet n Wild products on sale 2/$3...ALL of them. I got the other two 8 palette eyeshadows I didn't have, originally $4.99..What a steal!! That's like $7 off. Ahh...Then I also got Silent Treatment, a 3 palette that I've been wanting, and Blue Wants to Be a Millionaire polish (There is a similar one called Hannah Pinktata, but I didn't get it this time) I really wanted to get more, but I had to stop myself!

I didn't get great swatches with this palette because I used the sponge it came with instead of an eyeshadow brush! But from what little I've seen on them on my arm, I think I'll get the most use out of the bottom shade.

This is a really pretty shade, but I think it might need a bottom coat of something, otherwise it's going to take maybe 5 coats just to get it opaque. This is 3 coats here.

Top: Left Browbone, Right Browbone; Left Eyelid, Right Eyelid; Left Crease, Right Crease;
Bottom: Left Definer, Right Definer.
What you might not be able to tell from the picture: the right browbone on the palette is a light blue shade; the right crease on the palette is a dark blue with glitter but it comes out more black; the two definers are black, the left matte, right glitter.

Top: Left Browbone, Right Browbone; Left Crease, Right Crease
Bottom: Left Eyelid, Right Eyelid; Left Definer, Right Definer
Just another picture of them.
What you might not be able to tell from the picture: the left browbone and left eyelid are both matte; the right crease is black with red glitter, similar to the one on the Comfort Zone palette; the right definer is black with blue/purple glitter.

OPI Pirouette My Whistle, China Glaze Matte Magic

I got these for cheaper than I normally do, OPI $7.95 and China Glaze $3.95 (of course this is not a full-sized bottle).

I got these at Michael's. Everything from the brand Recollections is 50% off right now, so I got these both for $3.49 each.

All in all I think I did pretty damn good this week so far!! Have a great rest of the week.

neptune in the ocean.

I've seen a lot of caviar nails recently (or fish egg as some people are choosing to call them) and I thought they're kinda fun! I went to Michael's and got some micro beads that were on clearance for only $3.50 and got six colors. Martha Stewart has a set of 12, but her stuff is too expensive for me. Here's what I ended up with (Sinful Colors Neptune, Recollections Micro Beads in Ocean) :

Neptune is such a pretty color. I don't have a lot of blue polishes, so I'd say this was a great buy. Like most Sinful Colors it goes on pretty good, only needing a couple coats! If you haven't tried this awesome trend yet, I'm sure there are a ton of videos on YouTube showing how to do it, it is SUPER easy.

And because I like seeing a lot of pictures on people's blogs of their nails, here are a lot of mine :) :

Hope you like! Have you tried this yet??

get real-ism & coral amber.

Today I have two different colors. There was no sun today, just tons of rain, but I did the best I could with the pictures!

A while ago I took advantage of Sally's Beauty Supply's $10 off $20 coupon and bought a lot of Finger Paints. I really like the variety this line has, and they are really great polishes for not that much money . This one is Finger Paints Get Real-ism. It's such a pretty purple with hints of pink. Two coats was really good, but I always do three just in case.

I was going through my mom's five nail polishes she owns and found an old SH Nail Prisms! I used to work at Walgreens in the beauty department, and because I was good with sales, I got to go to a meeting that had Samy (the hair care products guy), a representative from Sally Hansen, and a representative from Isa Dora Cosmetics (this was in 2006/7, because Walgreens..or anyone really in the US I don't think...doesn't sell Isa Dora anymore). Everyone there got a TON of free hair products, nail polish, and makeup. I was one happy girl!! Anyway, I forgot I gave this to her so I took it back (she obviously never used it!), and painted her nails with it. Again, sadly there was NO sun today, but you can still see the potential it has to be awesome in sunlight. Here's Coral Amber :

So pretty! I had this on my toes a while ago when I first found it and didn't see what the big deal was with the Nail Prisms...and then I went outside and the sun glimmered on my toes...so pretty! My mom keeps looking at her nails (she doesn't paint them often) and saying she has a champagne party going on on her nails...haha oh mom..

I'm off to put my headphones on and blast some music. My dad is blasting Spoon's "The Underdog" with his headphones and singing loudly to it..have you heard that song? It's a good one..just not when my dad sings it :) Have a great week!

call me glitzy.

Hey all, how is April going for you? It's been really crazy weather where I am, which is nothing unusual. My dad's birthday is Saturday, and then my parents 40th anniversary is Sunday...busy weekend!

Anyway, I mentioned before buying Icing Call Me Glitzy and I couldn't wait to try it on top of white, so I did it. I love it! I was really excited for this polish because in my opinion it looks like China Glaze Snow Globe (I don't have it, but from what I've seen in pictures it looks similar). Weirdly, Icing's nail polish bottles look really similar to China Glaze! Click to make the pictures larger, because the glitter is awesome :

The white I used was Wet n Wild French White Creme. It was kinda thick when I was using it, and I also messed up my middle finger, which I then had to put another thick coat of white on my nail. Look how thick my nail was! (Looks like an acrylic nail!) :

That nail took forever to dry...Have a great weekend and Beware of Friday the 13th! :)

ultra violet.

April is turning out to be an okay month so far! My friend goes back to school on Monday and I watch her kids for her, so that is exciting for me. Also, tomorrow is First Friday downtown here, which means a lot of cool art, music and more. I am meeting some friends from the museum and hopefully will have a fantastic time!!

This isn't what I will be wearing tomorrow (I'm not sure yet what I'll be wearing, hm...) but I received this back when I did a swap. This is my first and only holo! The girl I swapped with to get Revlon Whimsical said she had a couple of these and to choose a color..of course I had to pick purple.

I have only swatched this so far, but it isn't until I saw a holo in person did I realize how cool it was! I will definitely have to wear this soon..I haven't seen many people with this kind of polish around here, and many people loved my Kleancolor Chunky Holo Fuchsia nails (will post soon!), that I'm sure these will be a hit also.

01 April 2012

gothic lolita.

China Glaze Gothic Lolita is the only polish I bought from the Electro Pop line. I had gone to Ulta with a friend so she could get the Hunger Games polishes, and they had just put out a whole new set of Electro Pop colors so I grabbed it!

It almost seems like a creamy purple, but it's not. I've seen it described as having both red and blue micro shimmer (very very micro). Gorgeous!

I wish I had gotten Techno also, but I am glad I at least got this one!!

What colors did you get from this line, if any?
